基于语料库的典籍译本词汇操作规范对比研究

Corpus-based Contrastive Study ofthe Lexical Operational Norms of the English Translations of Sunzibingfa

翻译规范研究是描写译学的研究重心,其中翻译操作规范又可从词汇、句法和语篇等层面进一步考察,而语料库技术是考察翻译操作规范的重要手段。研究语料为中国传统兵法典籍《孙子兵法》的两个英译本(林戊荪译本和安乐哲译本),着重考察两译本在词汇操作规范方面的差异。研究方法主要是利用语料库软件对所选语料从词汇(STTR、词长分布、词频、词汇密度)层面进行统计分析,结果发现:中外两个英译本的词汇操作规范上存在诸多差异,盖因译者翻译目的、翻译观不同等原因促成。

As one of the loci of descriptive translation studies, translational norms are further divided into lexieal, syntactic and textual operational norms. Oue of the significant means to study operational norms in this paper is corpus-based technique. The comparable corpora in use are the two translations of Sunzibingfa, the world-known Chinese military classic （ l,in Wusun＇ s translation and Roger T. Ames＇ s translation） . By means of corpus tools, this paper is filcused on the analysis of the differences in lexical operational norms, including slandardized type/token ratio, length of words, frequency of words, lexical density, etc. Finally, it is discovered that there are slriking differences between the two translations in lexical operational norms, which may arise from the translators＇ aim and translational philosophy, etc.
