"Garden in the Dunes" is modern American Indian writer Leslie Marmon Silko' s masterpiece, which carries rich Indian culture. Silko vividly describes hunting, agri- culture, "First Fruit Ceremony", "Ghost Dancing" and "Sacred Hoop". These traditional cultures present Indian people's awe to the nature and hope for harmony. By telling Indi- go's traveling experience in the white society, the experience of maturing, Silko criticized the money-oriented western society and affirmed the spirit -worshiped Indian culture. The Indian culture described in novel is of a great value of reference to the modem people facing eco-difficulty and spiritual crisis.
