The Narrative Function and National Style of the Image in Chinese Characters

汉语以象表意的特性是生成汉语意象叙事的根源之一。本文从汉字象形表意的根本属性出发,探索汉字意象的本质属性,分析意象内涵的结构形态与叙事功能,辨析意象叙事与抒情之关系,考察意象叙事的风格特色,发现汉字意象在主客一体性、直观性、空间性、体验性、不等性诸方面与表音文字有别。意象的这些属性在转向意象叙事的过程中受传统观念文化影响,形成了天人合一、万物通变的叙述视域,体验性与心性关怀的叙述品格,场景化写意性的叙述意味,形断意连对称循环的叙述结构,朦胧与神秘性的叙事气韵等典型意象叙事风格,初步发现了意象叙事的特有品质及其形成原因。

This paper tries to probe into the essence of image in Chinese characters, analyze the structural form and narrative function of image, tell the relationship between image narrative and expression of one feelings, and investigate the style and characteristics of image narrative to find that Chinese characters are different from alphabetic writings in many fields. Image is influenced by traditional ideas, so it has such characteristics as oneness of heaven and man, everything being changing, experience and mind care, narrative meaning of scene, meaning connection without form, obscure and mysterious narrative and so on. And the peculiar quality of image narrative and its reasons are found.
