针对历史虚无主义者借“反思历史”为名，否定历史，否定中国特色社会主义发展道路，否定中国共产党领导的错误言行，从写史写实的角度，给予了有力批驳。通过对中国近代史的分析，以详实的史料，论证了农民阶级、地主阶级、资产阶级革命派都不是领导中国社会变革的先进社会力量，都不能完成民族独立和国家富强的历史任务；论证了中国共产党的执政地位必然性、中国革命的艰巨性、曲折性和“四个自信”的科学正确性。强调要加强对广大青年官兵对我党史、军史的教育学习，自觉抵御历史虚无主义的渗透侵蚀。
