中美学术期刊讣告态度资源对比分析

A Comparative Analysis of Attitudinal Realization in Academic Obituaries Published in Chinese and American Journals

本文依据评价理论,对比分析了中、美学术期刊讣告中呈现的态度资源,发现了两者分布的异同:情感资源主要用来表达作者的"哀悼"和"缅怀"之情,但两者的侧重点有所不同;大量利用判断资源赞颂逝者的个人行为,这样的赞颂是基于一定的社会文化和社会伦理而形成,体现了为该社会群体共同接受的价值观和道德观。因此,中美学术期刊讣告的判断资源呈现差异点最多;鉴赏资源主要用来对逝者所做的研究、工作进行评价,因此在中美学术期刊中的分布相似度最高。

Within the framework of J. R. Martin＇ s Appraisal Theory, this article compares the attitudinal resources, namely content words in obituaries published in Chinese and American academic journals. Analysis indicates that obituary writers have different focuses though they mainly employ affects to express their mourning of the dead scholars; A large number of Judgments ,which prove to be more likely to be influenced by different values and cultures in China and America, are used to praise the behaviors of the dead scholars; Appreciations which appear to be less likely influenced by the different social values in Chinese and American academic communities, aim to praise the scientific research and work conducted by those scholars.
