基于语料库的广州企业简介翻译特征研究

Corpus-based Study on the English Translation of the Guangzhou Company Profiles

本文以广州企业中文原文语料和英译文语料为研究对象,运用语料库的方法和基于翻译共性的理论框架,对广州企业英译文语料的词汇、句型和语篇三个层面的各项指标进行定量分析,并通过与外企简介英文原创语料相对应的指标进行比对,分析两者之间的差异及在翻译过程中产生差异的原因。通过语料库的比对分析,为我国企业网站外宣文本英译过程中文本内容的选择与安排、文本结构、语言风格和表达、排版、媒介的使用等方面提出了若干建议。

Assuming translation universals framework, this paper applies corpus based methodology to implement quantitative research on the translation of Guangzhou company profiles. Two corpora are established, one is the parallel corpus of Guangzhou Company profiles, and the other is the foreign company profiles corpus. By comparing these two corpora with three indexes of lexi- con, sentence and discourse, the paper reveals the differences between the translated company profiles and the English-written company profiles. In addition, the paper analyzes the causes of such differences during translation process. Based on the research results, the paper proposes some suggestions on the translation of company profile covering the content, organization, language style, expres- sion, editing and the choice of media.
