The Evolution of American Comparative Literature from the Perspective of Linguistics

20世纪中期以来比较文学的中心从法国转移到美国,直至今日美国依然引领着世界比较文学的潮流。在美国比较文学的演变进程中,语言观的转变自始至终都是促使其研究对象、研究边界、研究方法等发生变化的内在驱动力,它既给比较文学造成危机,同时又带来了发展契机,最终推动这一学科不断重新定位自身。

Since the mid-20th century, the center of Comparative Literature has moved from France to the U.S., which is still leading the world trend of Comparative Literature. In the evolution of Comparative Litera- ture in the U.S., the change of language view has been the inner driving force for the shift of research objects, boundaries and methods. It caused the crisis of Comparative Literature, brought the opportunity for its development, and ultimately propelled this discipline to relocate itself constantly.
