摘要
通过对3所普通本科院校学生英语学习需求状况进行调查,探讨基于该群体需求的英语课程体系建设。调查发现:该群体学生英语能力自我评价较低,语言实际应用能力差强人意;压缩基础英语的呼声较高,对英语拓展课程的学习需求强烈;语言技能提高类、专门用途类以及跨文化交际类课程较受学生青睐。基于以上发现,普通本科院校需开设不同层级的通用英语课程以提高学生的语言应用能力和交际能力;同时兼顾跨文化交际系列和专门用途系列的基础级课程,以满足学生进行国际交流和专业学习的多元需要。
The present paper probes into the construction of a localized College English curriculum system based on the needs analysis of the students from three average undergraduate colleges.Findings show that, students' English application abilities are far from satisfactory and general English should still be set up as a compulsory course for the target group, with teaching ob- jectives and contents more specifically classified.Students also demonstrate both willingness and keen desire for various kinds of English extended courses.Therefore, elementary level of cross-cultural or ESP courses should be incorporated as selective courses to meet with students' differential learning needs.
