摘要
本研究拟对两个大学英语口语平行班进行随机对照,通过分别施以多模态口语教学和传统口语教学,以雅思口语评分标准比较两个班口语测试的分数来研究多模态理论在大学英语口语教学中的价值。结果显示,实验班与对照班在总分、流畅程度和连贯性、词汇量、发音的评分均较前显著提高,且实验班在上述各项评分上均显著高于对照班;但语法结构及精准度评分较前无显著提高,两个班之间亦无显著性差异。研究表明,采用多模态协同、学生多模态输出为主的教学方法能够改善英语学习者在口语方面的表现。
The present article explores the values of the output-focused multimodal teaching modal in oral English course for Chinese college non-English majors.The research is conducted by comparing both students' post-test scores and their pre-test scores between the experimental class which adopted a multimodal instruction approach and the control class which used tradi- tional lecture.The results show that the scores in fluency, coherence, vocabulary and pronunciation of the experimental class are higher than those of the control class while the scores of grammar accuracy make no significant difference.The study suggests that the output-focused multimodal teaching model in oral English class for non-English majors is superior to the traditional teaching model.
