On the Music Culture in Huainan Zi

《淮南子》是西汉初期皇族淮南王刘安主持编撰的一部著作,其中论述礼乐文化的文字虽然散见于不同的篇章,但认识独到,论证全面,运用灵活,值得加以研究。本文主要从礼乐的产生及其社会功能、礼乐之"情"与礼乐之"和"、礼乐应因时因地而制宜等方面,集中论述了《淮南子》中的礼乐文化。

Huainan Zi is a book compiled by Liu An, the Huainan king in the early Han Dynasty, which discussed the music culture in different chapters. Though scattered but unique, flexible with comprehensive demonstration, those words on music culture are worth studying. This article attempts to explore the music culture in Huainan Zi from the origin and social functions of music, ＂love＂ and ＂ritual＂ in music, and adaptation to the times
