Objective To observe the effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with Ultrasound B guided radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of small hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods 80 cases of patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma in our hospital from January 2012 to January 2014 were selected, these patients were divided into transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with Ultrasound B guided radiofrequency ablation treat- ment group(combined treatment group, n=40) and transcatheter arterial ehemoembolization alone treatment group (single treatment group, n=40) two groups according to the treatment methods, the effects, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years survival and recurrences of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results The total remission rate of the combined treatment group 92.5% (37/40) was significantly higher than the single treatment group 70% (28/40) (P〈0.05), the 1 year, 2 years, 3 years survival rates 97.5% (39/40), 95.0% (38/40), 87.5% (35/40) were significantly higher than the single treatment group 90.0% (36/40), 82.5% (33/40), 80.0% (32/40) (P〈0.05), the recurrence rate 2.5% (1/40) was significantly lower than the single treatment group 17.5% (7/40) (P〈0.05). Conclusion The effect of transcatheter arterial chemoemboliza- tion combined with Ultrasound B guided radiofrequency ablation is better in the treatment of small hepatocellular carci- noma than transcatheter arterial ehemoembolization alone treatment.
