Through the definition of concept, connotation and features of autobiography, the paper analyzes the text of Doris Lessing＇s autobiography; it explores her cultural identity and demonstrates how Lessing defines her identity of the ＂Other＂ and how she expresses her cultural position through the process of rebuilding herself. Lessing＇s autobiographical writing surpasses the traditional form which highlights oneself. She is determined to explore her self-identity and consciously chooses the experiences and stories that can build the subjective identity. In that case, it fully expresses the living condition of the marginalized ＂Others＂ who are free from the mainstream culture and the power circle.
