摘要
随着国际交流的日益加深,许多城市都增加了英译标语,但错误现象经常出现。从奈达功能对等翻译理论入手,以实例说明对等翻译理论在标语翻译中的可行性,并阐述功能对等翻译理论在标语翻译中的原则,指出标语的译文应符合译文读者的语言特征和文化背景,避免文化冲突,从而有效地实现标语的交际功能和宣传目的。
With the deepening of the international communication, many of the city’s slogans have been translated into English, but mistakes in translation can be seen. Through the analysis of Nida’ functional equivalence translation theory , the feasibility of equivalence translation theory in slogan translation is il-lustrated by examples of the function of slogans. This paper expounds the principle of functional equiva-lence translation theory in slogan translation , pointing out that slogans should conform to the linguistic features and cultural backgrounds of the readers and avoid cultural conflicts , thus effectively realizing the communicative function and propaganda purpose of slogans.
