Communication ecology of media convergence has brought profound changes to the news communication industry. As the basic work of the news report, the editor inevitably suffers a great deal of shocks which need to cope with the challenges through transformation. This paper discusses three trends of editors from three aspects, including accumulation, structure and intelligence. This paper also summarizes ideas that should be combed in this new trend, including news products, agile iteration, information visualization, story-driven, multi-screen-publishing, peer-to-peer collaboration and project management.
