龙兴寺,其不仅有着悠久的历史,亦有着特殊的文化背景。通过对龙兴寺兴建之由、历史演变之梳理,可以勾勒出龙兴寺形成发展的基本历程。御制《龙兴寺碑》、御制《大龙兴寺律僧法》以及与龙兴寺相关的各种建筑,都是对佛教文化以及传统文化的承载和弘扬。在新时期,如何定位自身,如何处理好与俗世的关系,这是龙兴寺发展的当务之急。

Longxing Temple, not only has a long history but also possesses a special cultural back- ground. Through summarizing the reasons of Longxing Temple being built and its historical evolution, the basic process of its formation and development could be outlined. Long：ring Temple Monument made by the emperor order, the law of the monk of the Large Longxing Temple made by the emperor order as well as various buildings relative to Longxing Temple, all of which have inherited and carried forward the Buddhism culture and traditional culture. In the new era, it is the priority to the develop- ment of Longxing Temple on how to orient itself and how to handle the relationship with the secular.
