摘要
《西贡小姐》与《悲惨世界》《猫》《剧院魅影》被誉为欧美"四大音乐剧",曾掀起一股百老汇热并创造好几项百老汇记录。文章主要从跨种族的悲剧爱情、悲剧式的"美国梦"、凸显西方意识形态的主导性三个方面来阐述《西贡小姐》中的东方主义思想,并从中得到解读西方音乐文化的启示。
Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Cats, and The Phantom of the Opera are honored as ＂big four musical operas＂in Europe and the United States, which once led to a Broadway heat and created several Broadway re- cords. This article elaborates the orientalism ideology in Miss Saigon so as to interpret the enlightenment of west- ern music culture mainly from three aspects： the interracial love tragedy, the tragedy of the ＂American dream＂, and highlighting the dominance of western ideology.
