湘西州饰面石材丰富、品种较多,且较新颖,主要为产于寒武系—奥陶系碳酸盐岩中的沉积成因的彩色大理石矿床。样品抛光后,光泽度好、物像清晰、绚丽多彩、美观大方、古朴典雅,且易于拼接,装饰性能良好,具有较高的开发价值和良好的开发前景。文章在阐述了饰面石材的资源特征基础上,探讨了找矿方向。

Surface decoration stone is abundant in Xiangxi autonomous prefecture. All kind of stone and novel, belongs to sedimentry coloury marble deposit,mainly occurs in carbonate of Cambrian and Ordovioian. Polished sample appears glossy, clear and colourful, it is easy to piece together and best decorating property, a good prospect of development and developble value. Based on the marble resource characteristics, the ore-searching direction is discused.
