与天使较量:将文化研究置于当下

文化研究需要与天使较量,即承认复杂性,以临时性、不确定性、开放性和不完整性的特点坚持语境化的思考,探讨跨学科的各种方式。本文回顾了情势这一概念的发展变迁,讨论了政治化情势所面临的问题,从这一角度产生的对于启蒙的反思与质疑,以及该如何把文化情势化。文化研究必须面对当前新的知识挑战,并与之较量,在理论的竞争中获得思维的进步,形成一些接合,提出新的概念和立场,开启分析与斗争的新的可能性,进而努力与当地情势及政治性问题达成一致,开启未来的其他可能性。

Cultural studies is always ＂wrestling with the angels. ＂ It in- sists on contextuality which entails the most important commitment of cultural studies： to embrace complexi ness, and incompleteness, cu ty. ltu Through provisionality, uncertainty, open- ral studies see itself as a constant experimen- tation and explore forms of collaboration and interdisciplinarity. The paper traces the development of the concept of the conjucture, discusses the politi- cal challenges of conjectural analyses, and therefore reflects on the Enlighten- ment and how to conjucturalize culture. Cultural studies has to face the new intellectual challenges of the present, to wrestle with them as it struggles to come to terms with the political problematics of contemporary conjunctures and to open up possibilities for other futures.
