The art of drawing varies in forms, including the traditional method of drawing, drawing with markers and CAD （Computer Aided Drawing）. Among them drawing with watercolor has the following merits： the pigments are easy to dry, drawings can be made fast, water and colors mix well, and forms of presentation are aesthetically pleasing. As a result, it is widely used in the drawing of design sketches. The article introduces the basics of design sketches and watercolor, analyzes the relationship between them, and emphasizes the application of watercolor in design sketches.
