Necessities of Creating Social Investigation Study with Chinese Characteristics: And Counseling with Professor Feng Xiaotian

立足于中国社会调查历史,西方和部分中国社会学者关于"社会调查"和"社会研究方法"的定义、社会调查的方式、方法及其分类和表述等,值得商榷。社会调查是一种方法,但研究社会调查的学问——社会调查学,则是社会科学领域里的一门相对独立的学科。改革开放以来,西方现代社会调查方法的引进,对推动中国社会调查从近代向现代的历史性跨越起了决定性作用。同时,它的一些不科学、不适合中国国情的东西也在泛滥,甚至在社会调查某些领域出现了一统天下的局面。为了改变这种局面,必须创建以中国传统文化精华、辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义为指导的具有中国特色的社会调查学。

Based on the social survey of history, it is worthy of discussion for the western and some Chinese social scholars about the definition of the ＂social investigation＂ and ＂social research methods＂, the ways and methods of social investigation and its classification and expression. The social survey is a kind of method, but the study of the social survey, social investigation study, is a relatively independent discipline in the social science field. Since the reform and opening u p, the introduction of modern western social survey method has played a decisive role in promoting the historical leap of Chinese social survey from modern times to the contemporary age. A t the same time, some of its unscientific, not suitable contents for China＇s national conditions are also flooding, and dominate the world even in some areas of social survey. In order to change this situation, it is necessary to create social investigation study with Chinese characteristics, which is guided by the traditional Chinese culture, dialectical materialism and historical materialism.
