Contrastive study between two languages is of great importance for translation. Chinese quantifying constructions are different from English ones in that the former have abundant classifiers while the latter have not, which however have their unique alternatives. Contrastive study of quantifying constructions between Chinese and English may help to improve the translation quality of Chinese classifiers.
