KMT Top Officials' Reaction to the Three Uprisings Led by CPC

南昌起义、秋收起义、广州起义对中国共产党而言有着重要意义,它们开启了中共独立领导土地革命的新征程,通过这些武装暴动中共逐渐建立了正规的红军。基于党派利益和指导思想等方面的根本对立,南京国民政府对共产党的武装暴动并不认同,大肆攻击共产党背叛革命。从总体情况看,出于清党反共的惯性思维,南京政府始终把共产党的暴动与武汉政府联系在一起,把共产党反抗国民党的革命行为视为国民党反共的依据;出于对国民党军事力量的自信,认为共产党的军事武装根本不足为惧,消灭共产党是必然的。

The Nanchang Uprising, the Autumn Harvest Uprising and the Guangzhou Uprising are of great significance to the CPC in that they started the new journey of its independent leadership in the Agrarian Revolution and in that these armed uprisings helped it to establish a regular Red Army. Owing to fundamental oppositions in party interests and guiding ideologies, the Nanjing KMT Government resented the CPC＇s armed insurrections and vilified the latter as betraying the revolution. Generally speaking, out of its anti-Communist inertial thinking, the Nanjing Government tended to associate those uprisings with the Wuhan Government and viewed CPC＇s revolutionary actions as its basis for anti-Communism. On the other hand, because of KMT＇s over-confidence in its own military power, they assumed that the CPC＇s armed uprisings were nothing to worry about and that the Communist Party was bound to be eradicated.
