Discussion on Zhou Youguang's Spirits

周有光先生虽然驾鹤西去,但他的矢志不渝的爱国赤诚、独立自由的求索精神、敢讲真话的可贵品质、居安思危的忧患意识、海纳百川的世界胸怀、钟情专业的坚韧意志、一生好学的求知兴趣、随遇而安的淡泊境界、谦逊达观的人生态度、举杯齐眉的恩爱美德,无不彰显出中国传统知识分子伟大的历史使命感与崇高的担当责任感。今人理当努力承传周老伟大精神,积极弘扬周老崇高品格,为中华复兴。

Though Zhou Youguang has passed away, his spirits of patriotism, independence, sincerity, longeyesightedness, tolerance, loyalty for his career, modesty, reconciliation, love for knowledge, mutual respect between his wife and him, all of which, symbolize traditional Chinese intellectuals＇ responsibilities and historical mission. People, today, should inherit Zhou＇s great spirits, actively broadcast his noble qualities and devote ourselves to world-peace.
