Sushi considers Zen as the understanding and experience of life. Following his philosophy of life, his poetry shows the spirit of Zen. The use of direct elaborations, Buddhist allusions and images in the poetry also shows his idea of emptiness and the wisdom of being open-minded owing to his belief in Nidana.
