Based on polyphonic narration, Indians speak out from their heart and express their Lore Medicine. The policies and laws formulated by the native American woman writer Louise Erdrich lets the traumatic experiences in the modern white society in her novel the American government gradually privatize the Indian lands, which are snatched by the white colonists. Meanwhile, the Indians are taken away from their national tradition and socially excluded by the white men. The white material products destroy the Indians mentally and physically, which lead to their tragic fate. The Indians who live in the modern society are twisted in the crevice between the white and Indian cultures and painfully search for the spiritual garden.
