Truth and Fiction in “The Garden of Forking Paths”

《小径分岔的花园》以虚构战犯余准的第一人称口吻,讲述了一个囊括玄学的侦探故事。作者用虚幻事物充当真实事物的注脚,将虚构的"幻想之物"隐匿到"小说真实"中,缝合幻想和现实的间隙,取消了真假的二元对立。通过文本细读的方式,从历史性、细节、时空与陌生化几个角度可以探讨这部小说中的真实与虚构性特征。

“The Garden of Forking Paths” tells a detective story including Metaphysics based on a first- person tone of fictional war criminals Yu Zhun. The author uses the unreal thing to act as the real thing, conceals the fictional “ fantasy” to “the real novel”, and stitches the gap between the fantasy and reality, canceling the two opposite of true and false. In this paper, through the close reading of the text, the real and fictional features of the novel are explored from the perspective of history, details, time and space and defamiliarization.
