楚简从“邑”之字分类略说——以清华简为中心

Classification of “yi” in Chu Bamboo Book——With Tsinghua Collections as Subjects

楚文字中从"邑"之字主要有六种用法,可表国名、表地名、表姓氏、表人名、表官名及表其他。"邑"本指城市及其居民,从考察清华简(一)至(五)字例来看,这些用法几乎都与"邑"本义有关,有些字可当作是专用字。

The character has six meanings in Chu writing system： a state name,a geo-graphical name,a family name,a person 5 s name,an official name,and referring to other things. Originally,“yi” refers to city and residents. By examining the first five meanings in the Tsing-hua collections, it shows that these meanings are related to the original meaning of “yi” and some are used as proper names.
