Transitivity Analysis of The Green Door

以韩礼德的功能语法为基础,以及物性系统为角度对欧·亨利的短篇小说《绿门》进行分析。研究结合定量分析和定性分析,着重对在小说主要发展阶段中选取的主要小句进行了及物性分析,探讨了小说中人物性格塑造和主题意义是如何通过及物系统的选择来体现,为读者了解该小说的艺术魅力和主题提供了新的鉴赏角度。

Based on functional grammar of Halliday, this study tries to analyze The Green Door of O · Henry from the perspective of transitivity system. This study makes a transitivity analysis of main clauses extracted at major stages of the novel by adopting quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, exploring how the characteristics of protagonist are depicted and how the theme is demonstrated through the choice of transitivity system and providing readers a brand-new perspective to appreciate the artistic charm and the theme of the novel.
