In the International scholarship concerning Hmong contractual documents, Japanese scholars have the highest level of representation, among them the most prominent is Fusaji Takeuchi. His research in this field mainly concentrates on classification and collation, text analysis, and regional socioeultural changes as seen in the documents. And his research approaches are characterized by the special attention to collecting in-situ materials and inter-textual evidentiality, integration of macro contexts and micro contents, and comprehensive analysis of in- side and outside factors. Reading and review of his scholarship would help to expand research scopes and capacity in academic dialogues in this field.
