Toxoplasma gondii infection can induce a strong CD8+ T cell immune response in the host, which plays an important role in the control of the infection of Toxoplasma gondii. During the course of infection, CD8 + T cells can stimulate the body to produce IFNγ and other cyto- kines, leading to cell lysis, which can effectively prevent the activation process of latent infection in host. However, during the infection, CD8+ T cells functional disorder could take place in some susceptible mice. In this article, the development of CDs memory response in chronic infection and the mechanism of functional dysfunction was reviewed and discussed.
