我国西部地区医学院校ESP教学的难点及建议

Difficulties and suggestions of ESP education of medical universities in Western China

本文以《大学英语教学指南(征求意见稿)》和《教育部卫生部关于实施卓越医生教育培养计划的意见》为背景,对我国西部地区地方医学院校大学英语ESP教学做出了一些思考。笔者认为大学英语进行改革势在必行,并对西部地区地方医学院校进行ESP教学改革的难点进行了剖析,认为生源良莠不齐,缺乏相应的ESP教材及师资队伍是制约医学院校ESP教学发展的主要因素。本文对西部地区医学院校的大学英语ESP教学提出了一些建议,认为可以将EGP教师转型为ESP教师;实行分级教育,进行小范围ESP教学;利用需求分析,采用多样化的教学方式;结合校情,推行合理的ESP教学模式等将在一定范围内促进西部地区医学院校的大学英语ESP教学。

This paper makes a reflection on the ESP education of medical universities of Western China based on two guidance documents. It points out that it is imperative to reform the college English teaching and analyses the difficul- ties for medical universities of Western China to implement ESP education. Various qualities of students, lack of ESP textbooks and ESP teachers are regarded as main factors that limit the ESP teaching in medical universities. Some sug- gestions are proposed in this article. It is believed that EGP teachers being transformed into ESP teachers, adoption of classification education and implementation of ESP in a small group, demand analysis and various teaching methods, and practical ESP teaching model can stimulate the ESP teaching of medical universities of Western China.
