As a post-disciplinary approach,cultural political economy is the product of Marxist political economy that adopts the＂cultural turn＂. Bob Jessop tried to use this method to transcend discipline boundaries,so as to explain the cultural,political and economic aspects of capitalist society. Cultural political economy combines concepts and tools from critical semiotic analysis,analyzes the process how the economic imaginary is selected,retained,strengthened based on semiosis,and reveals this process being invaded by national power discourse. Cultural political economy absorbs the critical nature of Marxism and semiotics,which provides a new perspective for criticized the capitalist society.
