不自觉的归化

Unconscious Domestication

不自觉的归化是指原文中没有出现文化负载词,但译者在翻译过程中不自觉地使用了文化负载词与之相对应的归化翻译的现象。就内容而言具体表现形式有使用历史典故、成语、文化核心词、古雅语汇等。笔者认为之所以出现这种现象,根本原因在于母体文化的操控,但语言修辞习惯、创造性叛逆的翻译观、对原文解读不够充分、对某些词汇的文化特性认识不够等因素也是导致这种现象出现的原因。不自觉的归化也是归化的形式之一,由于其发生过程是不自觉的无意识的,所以极难避免。

The unconscious domestication refers to the domesticating translation phenomenon where translators unconsciously use culture-loaded words to match the source text despite no such words.It is represented,in terms of content,by allusions,idioms,cultural keywords,classic vocabulary,etc.The author argucs that the underlying cause of such a phenomenon lies in the manipulation of maternal culture.Besides,there are also other causes as well,like rhetorie habits,the translation view of creative treason,inadequate interpretation of the source text,insufficient recognition of the cultural trait of some words,and so on.The unconscious domestication,as one of the forms of domestication,is extremely hard to avoid,in that people are unaware of its occurrence.
