The professional development of university teachers is the tendency of contemporary teacher edu- cation, and has gradually become the core of education. With the background of new media, this paper expounds the connotation of the professional development of teachers, through analyzing the characteristics of new media and the challenges faced by university teachers in the new media environment, puts forward the path of professional development for university teachers.
