In this paper the application of two kinds of water swelling material of rubber and bentonite to civil works are presented. For instance the swelling rubber is applied to gasket of segment in shield tunnel and bentonite strip to construction joint of in - situ concrete. This will serve as a guide for the similar project in the future.
