Translation Distance: English-to-Chinese Translation Model and Practice Based on Guizhou's Local Culture

翻译的距离涉及文本、时间、身份、文化、审美等诸多方面,对于人格、情感、逻辑三个修辞因素的运用有较大影响,进而影响译者主体性和译文语篇意识形态的构建,译文的语篇意识形态直接影响翻译策略的选择与运用。文章拟在翻译的距离这一视角下构建基于贵州本土文化的英译汉模式,探索其实践。

Translation distance involves such aspects as text, time, identity, culture and aesthetics, contributing to three rhetoric components, namely, ethos, pathos and logos, as well as the construction of translator＇s subjectivity and discourse ideology. It is argued that discourse ideology has a direct effect on the choice and adoption of translation strategies. This paper is an exploration of English -to- Chinese translation model and practice based on Guizhou＇ s local culture from the perspectives of translation distance.
