The solidification characteristics of ductile iron castings and the technological conditions to realize ductile iron no-riser casting were introduced. The process conditions of ductile iron no-riser casting were discussed combining the production of main bearing cap. The main points of the process control of ductile iron casting were put forward. No-riser casting process for ductile iron can significantly improve the yield and ensure product quality, reduce production costs, has considerable economic benefits.
