With the development of oceanographic research strategy, the building of the expedition fleet, the important carrier of the research, is highly valued by the government. New technology and new products are employed in succession in making vessel equipment. This paper introduces the installation of the drop keel system of XIANG YANG HONG 01 research vessel and analyzes the difficulties therein, providing references for further improvement of the system.
