从蒋梦麟的“蒋村”书写看浙东传统村落的现代性转变

Modern Transformation of Traditional Villages in Eastern Zhejiang Province Seen Through Jiang Menglin's Writing of “Jiang Village”

蒋梦麟的《西潮》记录了1842—1941年间的中国历史,是中国近代西风东渐过程中,描述外来文化对包括蒋村在内的中国乡村、中国传统文化所带来的冲击和影响最直接的呈现。由于该文本所记载的多是作者亲历亲闻的事件,作者在书写时力求平直客观地陈述日常琐事,通过描述浙东地区一个小村庄的起伏变化透射出整个国家的重大变迁,因此作者笔下的余姚蒋村书写具有很强的史料功能。《西潮》特别强调西方物质力量对浙东传统村落的巨大冲击,揭示出西洋物在蒋村的流传与渗透破坏了这座浙东传统小村落所具有的几百年的稳定性。《西潮》中的"蒋村"书写也启发人们进一步反思传统村落在当代社会所承载的文化传承功能。

Jiang Menglin’s Tides from the West provides a century-spanned records of China＇s history from 1842 to 1941, which renders a direct view on how foreign culture bestowed its influence upon Chinese villages and traditional Chinese culture at that time, notably in the Jiang Village, under the process of “East Spread of Western Culture” . As most events recorded in this book are the author＇s first-hand experiences, the author seeks to make the narrative of daily routine as plain and objective as possible. The book reflects the ups and downs China has undergone by describing the changes of a small insignificant village in eastern Zhejiang Province, which enables the depiction of Jiang Village in Yuyao to have great non-fiction elements. A special stress has been laid on the strong impact of material force of the West on traditional villages, explaining how the circulation and infiltration of western objects damaged the centuries of stability of a small traditional village in Eastern Zhejiang Province. The depiction of “ Jiang Village” will hopefully urge people to further reflect on the cultural inheritance function of the traditional villages in modem society.
