Study on Choson Envoy's Photographic Experience and Choson Images in the Late Qing Dynasty

在朝贡体制下,朝鲜与清朝的交流与交涉主要通过朝鲜赴京使臣来实现。朝鲜使臣在北京接触到一些西方技术与思想,摄影技术就是其中一项。这与他们以往在华的文化经验极为不同,令他们新奇。而到19世纪70年代,随着欧风西雨对朝鲜半岛的侵袭,那些摄影影像也见证了朝鲜闭关与开放的历史进程。

The exchanges and cooperation between Joseon and Qing were mainly conducted through Choson envoys on theChinese tributary system. The envoys adopted new technologies and ideas in Beijing,and photography was one of them. Howev-er,the photography experience is different from the envoy, s previous experiences. By the 1870s,their experience and images havewitnessed the historical process of Choson from closed door system to open door system under the impact of Western power.
