Teaching reform is the eternal theme in higher vocational colleges. The distinctive value and function of fundamental courses determines their differences from specialized courses. Starting with defining the value and functions of foundational courses, with a view to the principles and methods of ＂project-based teaching＂, this paper discusses the choices of teaching reform in the fundamental courses.
