高考改革中外语走向之我见

On Reform Trend of English Subject of Gaokao

教育部有关高考改革的方案一直在不断的修改和完善,力求让应试教育真正变为素质教育。其间,对高考中外语科目持异义者有几种不同的说法:"取消""选考"或"虽必考而降分值"。笔者认为,如此种种建议,归根结底并不是针对高考中英语科目的考试问题,而是我们的英语教育体制甚至整个教育模式的改革问题。但无论如何改革,都应该是让真正品学兼优的学生有更多更好的机会,充分体现所有公民享有接受高等教育的平等机会和权力。

The reform schemes for Gaokao by the Ministry of Education have been continually revised and improved in order to transform the present test-oriented exam into a quality one. As for the reform of English subject of Gaokao,people hold three different opinions:to abolish English subject,to make it a optional subject,and to reduce its proportion in the final score of Gaokao,etc. These opinions may be reasonable. However,the author of this article supposes that all the arguments are focusing on the English teaching system,or even the whole education system,instead of the English subject. Therefore,the ultimate goal of the reform should grant more and better opportunities for the candidates,and fully guarantee common people’s rights to higher education.
