河南省商城县观庙镇柳大湾话属于河南方言信蚌片,是信阳方言的一个代表点,与普通话差别明显,与赣北河南话有历史渊源。柳大湾话有声母22个(包括零声母)、韵母36个、声调4个,其声母有9个特点,韵母有13个特点,声调有4个特点。柳大湾话的词语与普通话相比较,大部分相同,属于同义同形,一部分属于同义异形,同形异义的词语则较少。从语法看,柳大湾话在词缀、重叠、代词、副词、助词、补语、宾语和补语的位置、句型等方面有其特点。

Liu Dawan village is in Guanmiao town, Shangcheng county, Henan Province, and the dialect of Liu Dawan belongs to Xinbeng area of Henan dialect. As one representative point of Xiyang dialect, the dialect of Liu Dawan is distinctly different from mandarin, and has similar historical origin with Henan dialect of Northern Gan. There are 22 initial consonants （including zero consonant） , 36 simple or compound vowels, 4 tones in Liu Dawan dialect. Viewed from grammar, the dialect of Liu Dawan has its own characteristics in affix, overlap, pronoun, adverb, auxiliary word, complement, the position of object and complement, and sentence pattern etc.
