Lighting calamity investiga- tion played an important role in both lighting calamity defense and the related administration system for meteorological department. It was on the basis of the lighting calamity investigation that the government and related departments made the guidelines and worked out plans about lightning protection and dis- aster reduction. Through lighting calami- ty appraisal, the meteorological depart- ment could discover the regular pattern of the lighting calamity more accurately and therefore found out the solutions to eliminate the similar calamity.
