四川是我国传统的畜牧大省。为控制家畜疫病发生及蔓延,减少家畜死亡,四川家畜保育所等一批家畜防治机构通过建立健全防疫法规,加强防疫宣传,推动防疫制度化,围绕家畜兽疫防治开展了一系列卓有成效的工作,奠定了四川畜牧兽医科技近代化的基础。
