This paper introduces a fault diagnosis expert system based on neural network for the rod pumped well.According to the graph of pump work. It states simply the selection of characteristic number in the neural network and describes the structure of the network.The process of the fault diagnosis in the neural network is explained with an example of sub network. The diagnostic result shows that the method is effective.
