＂The Pearl of Orr＇ s Island＂ by Harriet Beecher Stowe ）s about the story of two orphans--- Mara and Moses who were adopted by Mr. Pennel in Orr＇ s island of New Eng- land. From the perspective of trauma theory, it attempts to explore how they forgot the unpleas- ant experiences ,recovered from the trauma, and found their own life. It is argued that trauma recovery needs the common efforts of individual and society.
