This paper takes Introducing Second language Acquisition by Muriel Saville-Troike as research object and studies the stylistic feature of the texts selected from the above book from the perspective of functional linguistics from clause level. It elaborates its implications for academic writing in hope that theoretical research can be applied in the practical teaching and learning.
