This article summarizes the academic perspective and clinical experience of Professor Lou Lihua in treatment of lactating mammary abscess by four aspects： etiology and pathogenesis, treatment principle and method, typical cases, and experience. The indication of mammary abscess is exterior yang and interior yin, and its development is a process of deficient root and excessive superficies. Deficiency inside is the root of this disease, and weak yang and cold coagulation are its important pathological mechanism. The therapy is warm and dredge method, to warm yang and dredge collaterals, and to eliminate stasis and soften hard mass. The experience by Professor Lou in treatment of lactating mammary abscess is clinically effective, and is worthy to be promoted.
