Papermaking is one of the four greatest ancient Chinese inventions. It changed the world greatly. Thousands of years ago, people in China wrote on stones or animals＇ bones. In the Western Han dynasty, the Chinese started using paper. Then, in the Eastern Han dynasty, Cai Lun started to use plant fibres to make paper. It soon became popular around the country. More and more people like to write on Cai＇s paper. In the seventh century, people in other countries learnt papermaking from the Chinese.
